What Can I Do? - Connect

The book urges readers who are able to gain practical experience of a country where there is extreme poverty.  This is a practical way to deepen the Body of Christ - as it has an effect on you, on the people you will engage with, and on your effectiveness in working for justice when you return.

Newspapers, books, television, and the Internet can all provide information on global poverty. Yet the learning experiences that come to us through the media are, by definition, mediated experiences. First-hand experiences of poverty, with sounds and smells, can help take us beyond the previous limits of our empathy. A learning journey can create genuine connections and help to pull us out of our observer status and into our fully connected humanity. (What Can One Person Do)
