What Can One Person Do? - Worship

Visiting Speakers and Preachers

The following team members are available to preach or speak on faith and poverty reduction:  

Sabina Alkire is a specialist in poverty reduction and has worked for the Commission on Human Security at the United Nations, the Poverty Reduction Group at the World Bank, the Global Equity Initiative at Harvard University and undertaken fieldwork with Oxfam. She is a Priest in the Episcopal Church of the United States. Her publications include Valuing Freedoms: Sen's Capability Approach and Poverty Reduction (OUP, 2002).

Edmund Newell is Canon Chancellor of St. Paul's Cathedral and Director of St Paul's Institute. Formerly a Research Fellow in Economic History at Nuffield College, Oxford, he has a particular interest in the relationships between theology, economics and business. His publications include the book and music CD Seven Words for the 21st Century (DLT, 2003).

Angus Ritchie is Director of the Contextual Theology Centre at the Royal Foundation of St Katharine, East London.  He was previously a Vicar in the area, where he developed his parish's involvement in broad-based citizen organising - with campaigns on healthcare, affordable housing and low pay.  He is a Research Fellow of the Citizen Organising Foundation.
